Bashar Jackson, also well-known by his screen name Pop Smoke (July 20th 1999-February 19th of 2020), was an American musician and songwriter. Victor Victor Worldwide signed him. He also recorded for Republic Records. Pop Smoke gained acclaim because of his Brooklyn drill sound following his collaboration with UK drill producers 808Melo Axl Beats, Yoz Beatz, and 808Melo Axl Beats. Welcome to the Party, the lead single off his mixtape debut Meet the Woo released in July of 2019, was released by him in April 19th, 2019. In August 2019, two remixes of the song Welcome to the Party featuring American rapper Nicki Minaj as well as British musician Skepta were released. The pop-rocker's breakthrough track Welcome to the Party was first released in April. It is the first single released from his debut mixtape Meet the Woo. In August, the track was remixed twice, first with Nicki Minaj featuring and another time featuring Skepta. The song is notable by its use of UK drill production. It is also heard throughout his discography. The reason for this was the regular collaborations with British drill manufacturer 808Melo. Mpr Flexin is another song which is widely known. Following the huge successful release of Welcome to the Party, his collaborations with famous artists for singles like War with Lil Tjay or 100k on the Coupe, which features Calboy. In December 2019, he teamed up on Gatti alongside JackBoys and Travis Scott which is the closing track of the JackBoys (2019) album by Scott along with his Cactus Jack members.
