Lucy Liu is an American actor, voice actress, director producer and singer. In addition to being a beautiful and intelligent actor, Lucy Liu acts as a role model to several Asian actors working in Hollywood who want to succeed. After a series of appearances in popular TV series and movies, she gained fame after being cast in the Ally McBeal legal comedy where she played Ling Woo. The actress took her initial success into big screen roles in films like Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. Then she gave a stunning performance as Japanese crime lord O-Ren as the Quentin Tarantino film Kill Bill Volume 1. At the same time she was an actress in the flops of the box office like Rise: Blood Hunter were also prominent. Then, she was a voice actress for animated movies, such as Kung Fu Panda. Mia Mason's tiny screen role as a character in Cashmere Mafia did not produce the desired results. Southland was a critically-acclaimed crime drama - helped establish Liu as an actress of the future. Liu is extremely cautious when choosing her roles so that she doesn't become typecast within a highly competitive industry. Liu has taken on her Chinese heritage but she doesn't allow it to restrict her creativity.
