Lars Mikkelsen-1Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen was born on May 6, 1964. He has played Copenhagen mayoral election candidate Troels Hartmann in the The Killing drama, Charles Augustus Magnussen in the third season of Sherlock, the Russian president Viktor Petrov in the American House of Cards on Netflix as well as Grand Admiral Thrawn in Star Wars Rebels. In 2011, he was awarded the Reumert Prize of Honour At at the age of 27 He enrolled in the National Theatre School of Denmark from which he was graduated in the year 1995. In addition to his part in The Killing, [1] the actor also appeared on Borgen III, a Danish drama series that was popular. He also played a central role in an episode on BBC drama Sherlock where he played blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. In the American TV series House of Cards he played the president of Russia. He won an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his role in the Danish drama Herrens Veje. It was aired in the UK in the year 2019 as Ride Upon the Storm
